Learning Design Challenge #14: 2-Person Discussion Activity

Learning Design Challenge #14: 2-Person Discussion Activity

This is an extremely flexible activity, and one we can and do use across any learning context — face-to-face, online asynchronous, and online synchronous.

For example, we could do this via a formal face-to-face activity in a classroom or workshop, such as think-pair-share, or in an online course where students are asked to comment on each other’s blog posts. It can be something carefully planned or spontaneous in the moment. It can be “closed,” with a specific goal, or entirely open-ended.

I’m sure I may end up doing variation challenges for this but, for today the question in, “What is your ideal activity design for a 2-person assignment?”

Here are some questions you may want to consider

  1. What is your desired experience for this activity?
  2. What is your learning goal for the activity?
  3. What kind of set-up or explanation works best for this kind of activity?
  4. What are some possible constraints for this design?
